Forensic Dentistry

What is Forensic Dentistry?

Forensic Dentistry is the application of legal and scientific principles to dentistry in the interests of justice. It is divided into 4 main branches:
- personal identification (post-mortem)
- mass disasters (post-mortem identification)
- criminal investigations involving personal injury, child abuse and elder abuse
- civil litigation.
Forensic dentists work closely with law enforcement agencies in all of these types of cases.
