How can I replace missing teeth?

There are three ways of replacing missing teeth. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is gently placed in the jaw bone in a surgical procedure. After a healing period of a few months, an artificial tooth, bridge or denture can be attached to the implant or implants. A fixed bridge is an artificial tooth attached to crowns (caps) on either side of the space where a tooth is missing. The bridge is cemented in place. A removable partial denture or a complete denture replaces all of the missing teeth with one appliance. The denture is held in place by clipping it to some of the remaining teeth or by suction in areas where there are no teeth left.
